The best part about the holiday season is celebrating with those close to you! Whether you're helping out at your child's school party or you're getting friends and family together for some festive fun, these holiday party ideas are great!

These "Christmas light" balloons are a fun, easy way to add some festive flavor to your home! Use light up balloons or glow sticks for an awesome glow in the dark effect! You can also add glitter or confetti to make your "lights" shine! Find step-by-step directions at Living Locurto

While it may look like a kid's game, this snowman mummy game is hysterical and perfect for any party! Split into teams and use toilet paper, scarves, and hats to turn one of the team members into a snowman. Whoever creates the best snowman in five minutes wins! Find more snowman party ideas at Party Wishes!

Gingerbread houses look so fun, but they're usually a messy pain to make. It's nearly impossible to keep the sides together and, with one wrong move, the whole thing falls apart. Especially great for younger kids, an alternative idea is to make gingerbread cookies shaped like houses, and let the kids decorate those instead. You get all the decorating fun without the structural mess! Check out Hostess with the Mostess for instructions!

Perfect for your winter party or just a cold, snow day, these egg carton penguins are a fun winter craft! Kids can use different paint colors to personalize their new penguin pals, too cute! Find the directions at One Little Project!

Kick Cabin Fever to the Curb

"The weather outside is frightful." Is there a lyric that more accurately describes the winter weather? Winter break is right around the corner and, understandably, you may not be super eager to play with your kids outside in the cold and snow (we don't blame you)! But just because you're staying inside doesn't mean you can't enjoy the season!

This "snow dough" is easy to make and SNOW much fun to play with! It's super soft, naturally cold, and, we saved the best part for last, it doesn't require any cooking! Use beads and a variety of other fun embellishments to create snowmen! When your kids are done playing for the day, just store the dough in a Ziploc bag or air-tight container until next time. Find the instructions at Growing a Jeweled Rose!

This winter hat craft is the perfect indoor activity for kids and can be tailored to any age group. Use a variety of markers, crayons, colored pencils, stickers, and whatever else you can think of to decorate the hats! For younger kids, have an adult cut the hats out after the decoration process. Find the template and full directions at Easy Peasy and Fun!

This fun mitten math snowflake counting activity is a great way to incorporate some math into winter break! Perfect for toddlers and preschoolers, this winter-themed counting game helps with number recognition and fine motor skills! It's easy to set up and will keep your little one busy and productive! Find the instructions at Stir the Wonder!

This snowflake painting project might be messy, but it sure is fun! Two activities combined into one, kids can first decorate their canvases with either coffee filter snowflakes or painter's tape! After that, use paint, glitter, and anything else fun to turn the canvas into a winter wonderland! Peel off the tape or coffee filters and voila! Find the step by step directions at Little Bins for Little Hands!
